Nestled in the heart of Milan, Casa FM&AP is a stunning testament to the transformative power of bespoke design. Located within a prestigious early 20th-century building, this 200-square-meter residence has been reimagined by renowned architect and interior designer Elisa Coffinardi. Combining historical charm with modern functionality, the project represents a harmonious balance of tradition and innovation.
Casa FM&AP’s journey began with a bold reconfiguration of spaces. Elisa Coffinardi redefined the home’s layout while preserving its original essence. The central corridor, a structural necessity, now anchors the home’s new flow. Formerly a kitchen, the main bathroom now boasts a luxurious freestanding tub and a custom-designed shower enveloped in natural stone and resin, creating a sanctuary of relaxation and elegance.
The living area is equally striking. Anchored by a tailor-made TV wall and an inviting sectional sofa, it seamlessly transitions into the dining space adorned with a statement lamp. The adjoining kitchen, complete with a central island, is a chef’s dream. Cleverly integrated sliding doors allow the space to remain open or private, depending on the occasion. Every door and window frame was crafted anew, meticulously replicating the original profiles and cornices, preserving the historic character while elevating it.
From the Italian herringbone parquet flooring—a nod to the home’s original design—to the handcrafted furniture, each element reflects Elisa Coffinardi’s dedication to detail. Three bedrooms cater to diverse needs, including a guest suite with its own youthful flair, and a luxurious master suite complete with an expansive walk-in wardrobe and a spa-like en-suite bathroom. The entrance area features a clever sliding panel system, creating a versatile space that doubles as an office or an additional guest room. Every decision—from material choices to functional solutions—was made with the client’s lifestyle in mind, resulting in a home that is as practical as it is beautiful.

With over 20 years of experience as an architect and interior designer, she has honed a style that bridges contemporary and industrial aesthetics.
